

Georgia Maxey

Georgia Maxey is a Marriage and Family Therapist in Dallas, Texas. She offers individual therapy, relationship therapy and walk-and-talk to adults.
Georgia received her Bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and her Master's of Marriage and Family from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She is currently working on her PhD in Marriage and Family therapy at Texas Woman's University. Georgia completed her masters-internship with Colorado Couples and Relationship Therapy in Boulder Colorado where she worked with couples, and Mt. Carmel Veterans Services in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she served individuals and couples.
Georgia uses evidence-based therapy that is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) for trauma, relationship distress, affair trauma, anxiety, and gender issues. She tailors therapy to the individual needs of the client. Georgia became a wholistic therapist following her 17 year career as an Ortho-Kinetic Movement Specialist and gym owner. Georgia is a safe space, an affirmative therapist and provides individual and relationship therapy for traditional and CNM clients.
When she is not at work, Georgia spends time with her family and their three dogs. Georgia studies and writes about the systemic influence on gender, power dynamics, relationship success and the meaning of home.
